The VAZ-2108, known as the Lada Samara in much of Western Europe, is a series of small family cars produced by Soviet/Russian vehicle manufacturer AvtoVAZ under the Lada brand between 1984 and 2013. The model name Samara originally was used only for exported models, in the Soviet Union the same model was called Sputnik ("fellow traveler", "satellite") until 1991, when the sedan version of the Samara entered in production, using the export name.

Why is it worth importing Lada Samara?

The American market offers the Lada Samara in equipment versions that are often unavailable in Europe. In addition, the transparent service history (Carfax) and strict insurance regulations in the US make buying a "damaged" car a safer investment than buying an "accident-free" vehicle with an unknown history on the local market.

Frequently asked questions about Import from the USA

We dispel doubts about Copart/IAAI auctions, transportation costs and customs procedures.

The total cost of importing a car from the USA consists of several components: the auction purchase price (Copart or IAAI), the auction house commission (approx. 500-900 USD), the land transport in the USA (to the port, avg. 400-800 USD), the ocean freight (to Europe, approx. 1000-1400 USD), and customs and tax fees. In Poland, customs duty (10%), VAT (23% or 19% in Germany) and excise duty (3.1% for engines <2.0L or 18.6% for >2.0L) are added. Our import calculator calculates these amounts precisely.
